On one day, I asked something to my mom enthusiasticallly, “Mom, if we eat spinach, what nutrient we will get? Is it a vitamin? Which vitamin is it? Is it useful for my eyes?”. I was so curious. As a Biology teacher, my mom anwered my questions. That is why I like to ask everything to her. I am not a relax if something makes me anxious. When I was a student in senior high school, I was ambitious to be a nutrient specialist. I loved to find out the nutrient of food. At the weekend after school, besides writting the poems, I used to collect all references about nutrient of food. Week by week, I searched them on the internet and made a collection. There were some photos and the explanation of consumption effects in it. My friends borrowed my collection bind and I was really pleasure. I hoped that I would continue my study to famous university.
In fact, several years later, I failed to continue my study to the nutrious departement. Finally my destiny was being accepted in Agricultural of Economic of Syiah Kuala University. It was unpredictable! Because I had absolutely never thought about agriculture before. However, my parents and my senior always support me even if I had to forget my dream as nutrient specialist. They made me sure that agriculture is a God choice. “Agriculture will be your passion if you love it so much, you had better go with it”, said Bang Toga, one of my motivator senior.
Year by year, I go through my life as an agriculture student in Unsyiah. At first and second year, I did not join any organisations in campus because I had to prove to my beloved parent that I could study well and made them proud. And you know? I successed to get GPA over 3,5. My parent was proud of me. I was so grateful and blessing. I said thanks to Allah.
On my third and fourth study year in campus, I started to join some student organisations such as DETaK, BEM, Himasep, Kophi, Sobat Bumi and vounterring in Turun Tangan Aceh. I also joined IYF and ILC representative from Aceh. I think what I have gotten until this time are not my true succsess. I just want to feel free and get many friends. I have been learning everything about leadership, success, love, hopeful, spirit and modesty from inspiring people. Because we can learn everything anywhere, anytime and by anyone.
Accepting choice to be an Agriculture student is my destiny. I believe that my dreams are started by this choice. I wish I could continue my study abroad and get master degree. Germany and Australia are my country where I will visit and study later. I would like to take Food Safety or Agricultural Economics and Rural Development major. I want to be a lecturer instead of nutrient specialist. “Homo proponit, seud zeus disporit”. Man proposes but God disposes, does not it? Dream is our prayer. I trust it.
So guys, have you taken the choice? Have you dreamt the dreams? Never be pessimist. I had ever watched a movie “Forrest Gump”. Forrest as a main actor. He said, ”Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are gonna get”. If you are an Agriculture student, it is ok! It is great! Agriculture is the best field. Indonesia, especially Aceh, expects that it will be the best future chance. So, do you dare to choose? Yes you do ^_^
