Charity For Palestine

Caring with Palestine will be useless if we do nothing for it. Many people think that helping Palestine is very hard because in reality they have to be a volunteer to fight againt Israel’s attacks. So, what are your contributions to support people over there? Have you been ready to fight them? I absolutely sure some of you have not been ready yet! Piteous and horrible pictures which shared via social media extremerely built your fear. But you only just update Palestine’s info from media then broadcast it on bbm, share it on facebook, twitter, and give more attention through instagram. Unfortunately, some of you share it without read it’s caption. Our feeling is just “pitiful”, and “anger”. We just do nothing!

Okay, sharing information about Palestine’s is good idea to make other people care with, but it will be better if we can do the real action even though it is not a significant action for helping. That is charity.

The best attention for them that we can give is charity. Yap, solidarity by fund raising. I think it is just the easiest thing we can do for them. I did it along with friends at Simpang Lima the day after yesterday (July 15^th 2014). That was my fascinating experience I have ever done. Truly, it was my second experience walking on and accrossing the road at traffic light! We did it! Haha. I did not why I took that risk. Everybody might be shy standing on the road while holding a box for asking “Rupiah”. Yet I just enjoyed it! I really did not care with anyone who had stopped at traffic light. I did not care to dust or crowded situation on that afternoon. Occasionally I had to keep smile if a driver teased me. Huwoo! >.<

I was grateful helped Palestian even with “Rupiah” which given by driver and rider at Simpang 5. On that time, people who gave money (donation) would got a hand made-plastic rose. There were many colors such as red, white, blue, orange, black, yellow, and others. This was be a good trick to attract donator. Children who looked at the roses I held, cried immediately. They wanted the roses for free and then their parent eventually gave enough money. Some people liked the red roses than other roses. I realize that the red one was more beautiful and meaningful than the black one. That was why many people wanted to give money. To be creative is better, isn’t it?

But there were people who also did not want to get the rose although they had given money. They said, “No, I don’t like it”, “Please give me another rose”, “wah, that is not real rose!”. So what? That’s just what we could do as a thankful sign.

Many drivers gave little money whereas they had much money in their wallets. I was sad because they looks rich but they gave just a little money for Palestine’s Fund Box. They had Rp 50.000 and Rp 100.000, but they only gave Rp 1000 - Rp 2000. Only just  a man with his wife who gave Rp 100.000. I expect that he had just receive salary because he tore a envelope. I was so impressed! May Allah bless him and his family. Amin

Many communities cared with Palestine on that time. There were Aceh Loves Palestine, UKM Pers DETaK Unsyiah, FPI, 3 FM Radio, Turun Tangan, Forum Mahasiswa Pascasarjana, and AMIKI. Were were centainly success held this solidarty. This solidarity was not only asking “Rupiah”, but also making oration about “Save Gaza” near the Simpang Lima monument. So guys, sharing is caring, isn’t it?

We could do the easiest thing by charity. The most important of charity is sincerity. We have to always remember that helping each other is one of a good habit. Ramadhan is a time for generosity and giving. It is a time when we think about those who have less than us as well as thank Allah for everything He has given us. Ramadhan is an honourable and blessed month, and the rewards for generosity are multiplied in it.

Do not worry if your do not much money, the essential of helping is du’a. So, have you done du’a for Palestian?
